If you have the FC 1.0 don't bother with this hood. It only fits the 2.0 model despite the clearly marked "fits all FC models" on the packaging.The attachments on the front of the carrier are mush lower on the 1.0 compared to the 2.0, when you put the hood on, the result is very cramped headroom, no visibility, and an extremely unhappy child.Customer service, once I got through, did offer me a fixed solution on this sun hood. But realize that you have this extra step to deal with if you want the thing to function properly.

Despite clearly stating on the packaging fits ALL 2010 FC models, it doesn't fit the FC 1.0...To bad, because it show a real lack in quality design, because if they even tried to fit it on the pack they would have instantly seen that it wont work.

This items is great! We do a lot of hiking in the woods and this shade provides a lot of protection to our child's head while walking through thicker brush. So far it has worked well in that regard, in addition to the expected of keep her dry in the rain and out of the sun when it is sunny.It can cause limited access to them when you are hiking on your own. It straps on so well that getting in on the sides to assist them can be a challenge since there is not much room (which is a positive when in use). However, to get to them you essentially have to take the whole thing off. It is a minor inconvenience for all the benefits this item provides.When not in use, it folds down compactly and can easily be stored with the pack and not take any room away from other hiking gear. It is well constructed and very durable (takes pine branches and brush like a champ)!Well worth the money.
